Are you going to glue the foam in with Weldbond? Have you tried Hysol ??

Will Hysol flex enough with the cowl half?
I was going to use clear silicone.

Great idea with the silicone. We use it quite a bit on the jets to glue fuel tanks into the fibreglass shells. If you want the foam out, you can still cut it with a knife. Another little trick is to glue in some fishing line... If you want to cut the silicone, just grab the ends of the line and move it back and forth like floss to cut the glue.

We used silicone to mount servo's 20 years ago when I flew a lot of gliders. Still use a lot of it.
Well first piece is propped in place to cure. Breakfast, mmm.

I learned a trick about using silicone instead of locktite on cowl bolts. Works great. Some of these older guys have some neat tricks up their sleeves.
