I wonder why they are going this route? Maybe just a prototype? A CNC crankcase is nice and blingy but my god it's costly making them like that. A good casting is just as strong as a billet case. and way cheaper to produce in big quantities
They've had issues in the past with porous crankcase. I like the new look!!

I believe 3W still has them beat with low/mid torque. Perhaps they're copying 3W like all the fine engine manufacturers are...

Not all casting are porous. But bling seems to sell every time so......

I tell ya one thing if I made a machine finish like that on a part at work I would be on the chopping block. That goes for the MVVS motors too

Didn't say they were all porous, but just about every manufacturer that I've had dealings with has had grief with porous crankcase, including 3W. Your experience may be different.

Perhaps you need to find employment at a better facility!

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

I have to agree the machining looks rough. Maybe they have not finished it yet. You can see it is still attached to the block of aluminum it was machined out of. I have seen small holes in ZDZ castings as well.

Where can I get in line to get a "BA"?? I think with a name like that we should be able to hype the hell out of it.

The slogan could go like this. Get your car alarm trippin, babies crying, greenies writing letters to the editor no compromises fire breathing from the north BA engines. BBB ( thats built by Brad)
