Thanks Doug

Not sure how much I am going to share regarding testing.
I will share here. I will share in the Plane Bender pipe thread on FG. But I probably won't share in the DA 70 thread.
Some of those guys get a bit testy when someone starts talking about real world recorded numbers.
I mentioned doing testing and a couple already chirped. Some of the DA boys there get pretty defensive. So I will leave them in the dark with their dreams and dillusions LOL

Brad, if I send you an eme 70 can you test it to compare. Won't get the bling award but just curious how it keeps up

That I would love to see, I have to say I kind of favor the EME at this point as it has angled plugs which will help it to fit into the smaller cowls on 50 - 60 cc planes.

If you can find headers for it. I can test it on pipes as well.

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

They do run nice there are a couple down here. Both had the Reed update one was fine the other chipped.

One thing is they are allot different after some time out of the box testing may not do them justice.

QUOTE=Bdegan;1778993]Picked this up yesterday.
Nice little unit.

DA70

All the bolts are red aluminum . Head, crankcase and carb bolts.
The diaphram cover plate is a nice red anodized and engraved piece.
Atmospheric pressure holes are on the sides.

Called DA today to see if there were any updates for the 70.
Tony was on the other end of the phone
He checked the serial number and said yes there is a reed valve update.
It's a new set of reeds with a reed doubler to stiffen the reeds and keep them from over extending and breaking. I guess there have been reports of some reeds breaking.
So he is throwing the new set of reeds and doublers in the box with the headers I ordered.
4 to 10 days for delivery .[/QUOTE]
