Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

Ok let see if we can get back to the subject (before someone starts talkin' about someone's Momma).

Who has actually had an engine fail? Failures in my book aren't rapid deceleration ending at/or below the ground! Things like broken rings, melted pistons, bearing failures..... and finally, anyone actually wear an engine out????

I didn't realize there was a subject on this thread. It was just a never ending. I never worn in engine out. I did have an engine ---- to bed when the wrist pin bearing let go.

Was that the one broken in on Codfish Oil? I'm assuming it was an "In Flight" failure??

Never had an engine issue, no over heating and not even a dead stick due to an engine failure. Off course I use amsoil 100:1 that might explain that lol

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

Never had an airplane lasting long enough with me to find out when the engine is toast. Either the plane dies or it gets sold

I have a 150cc in my Yak. I got the engine from a friend here in RCC about 3-4 years ago. The engine was used and I have flown the living jeez out of that plane with that engine and as of today still pulls like hell.
