I agree that is great of tony to supply that free wood.

100cc 3dhs motor box kits (wing tube forward) is only $40 though

Nothing wrong with that either. Most only offer a new fuselage.

Doug they do a nice job of including a real "Kit" for a fuse repair. From what I've seen.
Yes a nice option.

Yep the EM e-mails not so bad compared to this. I bet it's just easier to see the text here for the older fella's. Notice how Doc always makes his fonts bigger and in bold......

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

About the DA120 / 60 /85 /170... They've all run the same.. Great motors, decent power but no where near the smoothness one should expect for such a."high end" motor. Just no refinement other than a shiny case.

There are motors out there that are smoother, as reliable with superior power and torque... Not about to spend that kind of coin on an unrefined motor like those 4.

But DA has some gems IMHO!!... Notice how many made it to my all-time favorite list

There's always a better one somewhere at some cost.

But I'm not about to spend my money on something that spits out spark plugs regularly, comes without a walbro carb, doesn't have the plug and exhaust facing milled to a flat smooth surface, bearing that go often, wrist pin clips that snap off, rings that need replacing before you run them etc. etc. etc.

Just personal preference for me. Is DA the best...nope, but the rest strive to be their equal or better!! some make it but most don't in my eyes.

IMHO!

There are levels in our hobby. Much the same as everything in life. Many are spending their hard earned money to fly as big/fancy an airframe as they can. With a known amount of disposable income they buy (hopefully) the best bang for their buck. So with compromise they ballance looks, bling, power. reliability, yahda-yahda.
A lot of middle class engines radio's etc. are helping many get to where they are. Helping make aspects of this hobby attainable for some.
Now a statement like that may be better suited in the general discussion forum. But the time you are running 10+hp engines you should be running high/top end stuff.
That's it for extra hard seriousness.

How about a good topic for the day:
We should declare a Banter free day. So which day would you propose?
