Thank-you for a great afternoon Darren. (and lunch).
We got a lot done. Even a balance check. 1/2 a day in the morning. Then the shack-down. If I get to go flying, I will be all alone.

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

Well, I bought Dan-O's Gp176evo. Game plan was to put it in my 126" Carden 260 to tame it down a bit over the monster MVVS190. Then I tried a 3-blade prop on the MVVS190 and it's about as perfect as one can get...Tamed the thrust down and all the benefits of quads.

So.. I now own a 176evo, LOL! Still will likely try it in the Carden as a test to feel what that plane flies like at 38-39lbs vs 42lbs.

Biggest benefit I see with going to a twin is I can move the batteries out of the tail which makes me really nervous charging them in that confined space.

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

I just checked and Dan ran this 176 on Smoothpipes at the stock 13.5" headers.

Been back and forth with Dave Sullivan... Dave designed the Smoothpipes with the 176 as the testbed and he says best length is 12" and 13.5" is too long and the 176 won't be producing max power. I also have RE3's that I'll run using Brad E's previous 13" headers.

Should be fun! Will post the results in a separate thread later this week
