That's a JC 120, it works well, not a big powerhouse by any means, but runs smoothly. Hightechflyer saw it run on one of my planes. BTW, I replaced the stock rings with Bowman rings even before the first run up.

Yeah Joe! Couldn't turn down the offer, especially since the next plane will cost much more than I have spent on one single build yet...

More to follow...

Dale... How was the maiden???
Trevor, all good. Stiff cross wind today 25+km @ 90*. More of an accomplishment, Goal meet. I dreamt of a ZDZ 180, spoke for Jacks early this year should he ever decide to part with it. So once I got it here, filled it back up with electronics. Told Arlene I would only be 3hrs. Home under 3hrs. She simply asked if I flew. Years ago, it would have been "why are you home so soon, CRASH?
I thought as I tied it back to start, an I nervous? No, range check, failsafe check. Then, re-start. Taxi out, photo, fly. Oh, sit, then fly.
It will be great, a few maneuvers, felt good. Now I can get back our holiday. Knowing if it snows, the Comp ARF is done. No more will-it/not fly?
The 180 is strong. In time I will get the two ZDZ/Suhkoi's out. See if the 160 is worth keeping (ha-ha).

I actually like the way it runs, it's a no nonsense engine, just flip and fly. Machining quality is good, pistons and rods are all good, nothing really to complain about, it uses real NSK bearings too. I got mine from AMR when they were liquidating their stock. I tried to spin a bambula on the thing, it barely spun 5200 rpm with that baseball bat. Menz 28X10's run in the 5800 / 5900 range, and my old Chapman 28X12 spins at 6200 static with custom bisson 2 into 1 barrel muffler.

I've been really happy with it, I took the chance since it was being liquidated and have been pleasantly impressed.

rotfl!!

Scott, I was just catching up tonight and as I was reading I pieced together you had the JC 120 from Trevor!

I had one as well, it was shiny, run well, but the power is a bit on the lower side. Mejzlik 26/10 was the best choice I found on The Beast.

I pulled mine apart to install Bowman rings!!! The inards!!! I'm sure it'll serve you well and if not I'll pay the shipping and supply it with it's own sticker #

Good Luck!!
