Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

Lots of cool stuff tonight.
Jeff, ever thought of flying C/L indoors? It has been done, many years ago, ha-ha.

Hey are you into some C/L flying at Lorne's this week-end? Let me know. I'm sure I will be flying something somewhere.

Pete, good on you. I smile when I read these things.

Nope, That will mean, I fly a shaver. (Never)

Yup, If you are willing to try my plane first. I want to make sure it is flyable before I smash the crap out of it. (Not really worried because I already ordered another one.)

These CL are a PITA to balance when compared to a Giant Scale RC.

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

Serious question for Dale as a my CL flight instructor.

I have recently learned that there are many different aspects with control line as with RC. Pattern, combat, racing and so forth. I understand the first two, but racing has caught my attention.

3-4 people racing in a circle. I am thinking of pylon racing theme, type of an event here.
What happens if 1st place guys laps the rest of the pack?
Does the loser get a braided wire rope wrapped around his/her neck?
Does this issue get considered as cheating because the 1st place guy will keep getting shorter circles as he laps the entire pack?

Without get too serious how the hell does racing with CL work? In any form of racing you get points for a 1-3 place finish. A guy with a poor running engine has to quite or risk getting strangled.

Haha a little BS for tonight.

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

The temperature for Camrose on Saturday is a high of zero thawing/freezing depending how you look at it. Can bring my rebuilt Eagle & put on a show again (what not to do!).

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

My favorite CL plane to fly was the Voodoo by Carl Goldberg. It even came in a kit with two of them in the box named Double VooDoo. It was superb for combat or stunt. Extremely fast as well at about 130 mph.
