Well..today I tried out the Pro R/C Front Dump Hype canister on my GP61/Falcon 25x8W.

Sounds really nice and a really cool tuned pipe sound on the low end. Compared to the KS canister I pulled 60rpm more on the ground and 150 more in the air. Really allows the engine to unload. Midrange smoothness is still silky smooth in the hovering range

Will definitely recommend these cans in the future

6540rpm static and 7430rpm unloaded

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

Also, had an issue with the GP61 today . On the second flight it let out 2 strange tick noises and then died. Luckily I was on approach for landing.

It is apart now and looks like the wrist pin retainer clip broke and scored the cylinder and piston and ring. The bottom end is fine. This has happened to a few of the first run of 61's (mine is #003) before GP Went to a new clip. I never changed the clip with the new design because I figured at this much fuel, it never would fail. Looks like I was wrong,

Good news is I called Lorne and he had the replacement parts under warrantee and they are already in the mail. Insane service. I'll be flying by Tuesday which is fine since it is supposed to rain through till Wednesday

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

Dale, not going to be a good day for flying/traveling to the Farm tomorrow as the weather is not in our favor. Will stay at the Lake, build plane, rebuild another plane, repair a helicopter, balance some props & decal 2 planes.

Pete

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West
