Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

Hope to test a DLE170 on the test stand in the New Year!!! Mike W has given me the motor and some Proflows for a baseline. Also have a set of RE3's and Smoothpipes around here we can run.

Not sure if anyone has any experience with the DLE170's??

Hi Trevor,

I've never owned one but I have seen it in action. It seems that it has less vibration than the DA170. Power wise, I don't really know but I saw it pulling a 40% around the 38lbs range pretty hard, using RE3's and a Mej 30x13L if I remember correctly.

Cheers,

Will

Had one on my 119" extra for a summer. It was reliable, low vibes, and hauled it around good with garbage can exhaust.......then I put the gp 176 on and it was a different ball game

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

Holy Cow.. did we actually just talk engines here?? What is going on??

Thanks guys! Very eager to test out the DLE170. I've read the same so great to get some similar confirmation!!

When the time comes i'll do a thread on it.

Too funny Dan. Turboprops are where it's at!! You need to convince the TFF to get a few so you and Ron aren't the only ones enjoying the sweet joys of Kero!!

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

Think I could put a turbo prop in this bad boy. I would want around 60 lbs of thrust

Because no one gives a rats ass about a four stroke. New engine testing is conducted by the EM.
