So true Brent.

I beleive the roots to my mechanical aptitude started largly through my involvment with modelling at a young age.

I have been impressed with GP engines from day 1. Now that it appears they are using parts from the other manufactures to get the best of best parts. I really want one. You can buy a SBC crate engine and GM thinks it is the best. Or you can have a SBC engine build using only a GM crank and out perform the crate engine all day long. I would like to see the aftermarket part available.
Nevermind what he say's!

I'm surprised Jeff-ff-ff. That you volintered to join the list of troublemakers.

Best of all is my good friend "Doc" (of toy engines) Wingburner is post #1

Jack, they need material to work from, forgive me.

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

Like Quadra isn't a chainsaw shaft, rod, & piston. The brand of chainsaw slips me. Originally built (or assembled) in B.C. Come on oldtimers help me with this one.

I sourced some crank bearings once from the local bearing/Ag supply. He measured the main bearing. Said common as hell, roller blade bearings. My cost $1.7?. I asked about quality, he said rated to 35,000 rpm. Good enough for me.

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

Yes you do exhibit some signs of loosing balls bearings. What's your point to all this ?

I await that smart guy -snots- to post over in fg his wit should fix that thread. If not they mend him a new one

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

I was just reading on FG that some guy found a rod in his new Chinese engine that says DA on it. Is DA selling parts to whomever, or are DA rods made offshore?????
I'm sure all the DA boys will be all over this...lol

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

Thank-you Dave, it was.
The rod in question, was in fact a GP engine (Tiawan). I was reading the thread trying to catch up. As I read 2 pages, the thread grew yet another page. Hate to think how long it is now.
As for GP, or DA engines. I have both brands, and they do all I ask of them, well. I feel my money is working well in bringing me joy.
