A good influence leading another good influence.

Save it for the Trout Farm.

Maybe I need to go to Canadian Tire. Drop by.
If he went to Lethbridge and back that fast, he bought something.

Oh, but the landing gear are at one level across the Hull. And the wing tube is at a different level. Only a guess, say 1.5 inches to shoot a straight line aft.
I'm using front dump cans. Right behind the wing tube (proposed).

Dale.. can you not go with a short header and have the cans in front of the wingtube? Short header won't hurt at all.

Another option is going with a set of TR-82 JMB cans... really short units and work well with short headers (like 6-8")

Or throw those skinny Jtec pipes in.

Such a shame not to use the 190 quad in there. And in cowl mufflers is wrong let alone on a sweet quad. You paid a lot of money not to have a chainsaw engine!!

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

The J-Tec pipes have holes in them from rubbing on the landing gear mounting bolts.
I will look at the height in front of the landing gear. That is the problem, more than the wing tube. But the Comp ARF is tucked away in the big cargo trailer now. Next time it is out I will look at options. I agree, I won't run in cowl's on the quad. It would fly in something else if it comes to that. All this is dependant on how busy our summer gets here at home.

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

Did some more measuring. Back to "The Plan". Cans ahead of the wing tube. Enough room under the fuel tank tray.
Might look at what Lorne has for large cans.

-Dale-.
I have seen a pic or video of that plane with a DA 200 and "fat cans" stuffed in there before the wing tube. It is a tight ignoramous!!!

Never have I seen such a beautiful and great flying plane, with an airframe so large, so poorly planned out...especially for exhaust.

Not the first Comp-Arf I've had like that (but the Sukhoi is the worst). It has really turned me off of their airframes!!

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

Might spend a few nights at Jeff's.
World problem solving central. I bet we could invent a solution.
That would involve more effort than I want to spend on this problem this summer.
