I thought CARF's came with their owns servo screws because (for some reason) the holes are too sloppy, or maybe the material needs a bigger screw to bite.... I've read through the 3.1m extra manual once or twice and I'm sure there's something in there about that... maybe someday.

They did/do. They are metric which are larger than the #3's we use.

The ones that are loose are the ones with the Carf screws that were predrilled. The holes I drilled myself and used socket head screws are tight.
