Phil, I had a great Sunday. Saturday, I was dragging hard by 3p.m.
I can't wait for the local flack about the Big Sukhoi. I'm sure there are many that would never believe I would let it move on. My wife for one. She always claims I get something working just the way I want it, then let it go to another home.
This will help solidify my position, as a grumpy old fart that uses those heavy old fashioned motors. Yup, sitting on my stool, flying. Hog'n up the flight line. Making noise and burning fuel.

Nice choice of motors!!! Very, very tough to beat 3W!!! If 3W can convert the most die-hard DA man(ie: ScaleGuy), they've gotta be good, LOL
Thank-you Trevor, as I respect your opinion this means well to me.

I look forward to the great tutelage from Jack, and other Top Shelf pilots/motorheads (like Doug).

Do you think I can top my 200 litres burnt this past season?

Watch me, ha-ha.

Derrick, hope you get to make our spring Show-N-Shine. As you never got to see me fly my big Sukhoi. I will be flying it for the last time as Phil takes delivery. You would be impressed, it is a beautiful smooth airframe.

Decathelon, and a 3W-80, man that there is really, Old Guy stuff.

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

Going to try and make it Dale. If in April again I might be able to pull it off, seeing how Phil is going, means the motorhome as well, now to see if Nick will join.
If it's old guy stuff..... bring it on lol. Definatly more power than needed to fly, but I have one, might as well give it a home. Now to procure a few more of those flying bricks.........

Ah that is where the 157 came into the picture. What a round robin of trades and purchases that was.

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

All I could think about today, was how much enjoyment I got out of assembling the 3.1M Sukhoi this past May/June. Really look forward to doing it again. Also watching how Phil will catch on to it. What a joy/easy/enjoyable airframe. Add the GP 176, great combination.

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

How about tonight's topic:
List your three favorite engines, buy brand and size if you have them.
Preferable let's speak from personal experience.

So I will kick it off.
ZDZ, twins over singles most sizes.
3W, but I'm only just getting into them, finally
GP just over Da, but I like Da's
