Your comparing the GP 176 evo to a DLE 170. I would expect the GP to spank it. Your also using a very light plane.
I had the 176 evo in my 50%, 50 lb Ultimate. On RE 3 ' s.
Also the ZDZ 180. Same plane, same pipes. The GP would rev about 200 shy of the ZDZ once unloaded in the air with the same prop. But low end and midrange........I'm sorry, The GP couldn't keep up.
When you hit the throttle on the ZDZ. It went from zero to BRAP instantly. The GP 176 was slow to wind up. Pulling from a hover..... The ZDZ would start ripping the prop once the plane started moving. The GP never ripped the prop pulling from a hover.
The engine that gave the zdz180 a run in my big ultimate was the DLE222. It could keep up power wise. Midrange and torque. Not to mention serious prop rippage. But the extra 6 pounds over the ZDZ 180 was very noticeable in how the plane flew.

Well if anyone would like to pour themselves a drink this evening. They can do so, and wish me a Happy Birthday.

As for the Cartel trying to get rid of the MVVS 58 Pro Sport. I looked hard at it. But I already have an earlier one in blue, add an Evolution 58. Even so, still hard to let that get past me.

Extra Large!

Thank-you Paul, but I'm just past the Rum stage (hopefully). Rye before that, Beer before that.

I looked through your album yesterday, nice Carden. So pour yourself one (of your choice). I'll get a coffee. Arlene should be home in an hour.

Thank-you Brodie, and Bradley.
Yes, I'm known as Grandpa Grump at the field. Wish my desktop (with my photo's had life) I would post some of the famous Grumpy on his perch photo's.

Only 364 more shopping days until my 55th birthday.

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

Happy Birthday Dale. Just poured a nice shot of whiskey just for you. Guess I will have to drink it for you now as I watch the girls on the Victoria's Secret show. Taylor rocked in the opening.

That's the idea Doug.
I ordered a new set of these Ultracote covering mittens, for rubbing the wrinkles out of the Big Sukhoi.
