Any Ideas how a DA150 reacts on tuned pipes? Does the power increase like the 170?

It does help them quite a bit from what I have seen online, expect 300 rpm I think.

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

Jeff here is a quote from a guy on FG.

I have two 40%ers.
Both were DA-150's on RE3's with 12 1/4" headers.
Really liked the power and the 150 is a awesome engine............But........
I now am running DA-170's on RE3's with 14" headers.
Absolute animals.
Both set ups gained 450 rpm with the exact same prop I was running on the 150's.
Displacement makes a big difference.
I still need to change the decal on my Edge.

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

Then in the next sentence another guy explains how he has gone back to the 150 from the 170 because he feels it has a better powerband that makes flying more enjoyable.

Doug this is a perfect example of how I feel. The latest/greatest, may not be for me. As a (viewed to be) lesser set-up, may suit my flying style. Hence why I enjoyed my 116 so much.

Others may have differing opinions, or they are getting to be old like me!
