Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

No rats or gophers here!

Happy New Year to you too Dale.

Where (who) deals CARF airframes?

Who sells 3W or ZDZ engines?

Note: I didn't ask about servos! I know where to get those, right Jeff!

PS: Is there any other way to mount servos in the wings of a CARF plane without needing a 2' long screwdriver?

This will be the LAST plane I put together. So quality will be the top priority. Boy would I be pi$$ed if I have to wait a whole summer flyin' season for parts though!

Of course not...the poor little r's are frozen stiff.

3W aircraftinternational.com

ZDZ amr-rc.com

MVVS chiefaircraft.com

Oh...and the screwdriver needs to be 36" long!! (only required on the 40% and up stuff) How large you going Brent?

Quality=zero parts required.

Non-quality=equals lots of parts, but perhaps the airframe is re-kitted!

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

Sub 200cc. Probably the 3 meter Extra 260. Funny though the 540 in the same span calls for a 20cc smaller engine. Whats up with that?

For me here, everything needs to be shipped. So it really doesn't matter where I buy it from. Shipping is going to be a PITA.

The CARF web page makes ya sign up before you can even poke around! Once in, there are no prices.....

Has anyone dealt with their USA reps?

Nice...3M Extra 260 is saweet!!

There are prices on their website Brent. (brace yourself)

I've used Ray Labonte 5 times with excellent service.

Will you get it shipped to a border holding warehouse? If not you really need to explain to them what's going on and you will require a broker to handle the paperwork.

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

Just checked the C-ARF site Brent. NO 3m 260's!!

2-3.1m 330sc's en-route. One is $3190..other is $3290!

Wasn't all that long ago you didn't have enough $$$$ to pay attention...now are going all out in an $8000 airframe....nice work Brent!

Those prices aren't bad (compared to a wood structure plane that will eventually shake itself apart).

The real surprise was the price difference between the ZDZ180 and the 3W 170!

Do all the CARF airframes suffer the wing servo issues your does/did?
