Edit I found it da50

How does your reeds look? The crappy fuels around now are beating our carb gaskets, diaphrams, reeds and fuel lines.
It pays to unload them ever couple of seasons........ Now I get it, well not jack he's where Dale uses ointment

Nick ---- I had a D.A. 50 doing the same thing a couple years ago .

Problem was ---- the spark plug boot ( the white insulation part ) was shorting out , it had a hair line split in it . Only could see it with a flashlight when you looked down in the plug boot .

This might be the problem

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

Hi Ray,
I did replace the boot earlier today with an RCXL from Thunderbolt as the old one was "Abused" looking. Thank you for the suggestion.

Just got back in from trying to start this pig.
Cleared out the pulse port and checked the reeds - Nada
Direct battery to iggy - Nada IBEC is set to 5.25V and seems to work fine
I swapped out the carb from another engine - Nada
Derrick asked if there was a pop off spring... oops - Nada
He also suggested I try another Hall sensor - Nada
I would like to try a NEW carburetor before I melt the thing.
