We here are usually quite temperate, this is abnormally cold
We still have the mid winter thaw, not that extreme temp shift, that's just a shock to the system.

I had a work detail in Ottawa. Its basically tundra December to March. No thaw in the Middle. Great ice fishing.

That last Chinook a few weeks back that hit at night was sure packing some wind.

Yes, was recorded 107kph here. Recorded 114kph last spring here as well.

Who knows how strong it might be where there's no data equipment.

One of nabors doubles blew over in that wind storm. And one of our doubles had it derrick bolts snapped off. The bolts were 1 1/2 lol.

LOL we use one 1 1/2 for entire engineered structures. LoL. That things looks like the wind spaghetti'd it. Mother Nature won that round

I heard they hit 120 up here. I was at work and I stopped on an icy road to help pull my partner out as he had spun out. I got out of my fuel truck and realized the wind was blowing it sideways across the road with the brakes dynamited. It blew it 3 or 4 feet by the time I left (5 min) and that was going up the crown of the road. If I had been on the other side it would have blown it into the ditch.
