Mine's been put through it's paces severely and never had an issue. That's the norm, except for a few motors that've had problems and kudos to Fergie for going above and beyond on this one. Ontop, we get his latest iteration with another power increase

He could have pulled a DA and just said there was no issue (85/170 bolt shearing, 60 timing, etc) or just kept saying 6 more weeks for 2 years like the 200 crank

I keep coming back to this statement, Jack.
Please clarify. What engines you would take?

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

Yep!! I see what's happened to the GP123 as awesome news for us modelers. Every company has had their fair share of issues and when we buy a new motor it's a risk we take. However the great news is that GP has raised the bar beyond any other company for service with how they handled this issue. And the V1 already has the best power:weight ratio of anything in it's class and the V2 is supposed to be even stronger!!!

So for folks like me who have 0 affiliation / loyalty for an engine brand, this will only make DA and 3W and ZDZ and all the others sharpen their pencil more! Good old competition only helps us

I'm hopeful someday soon one of the other companies will release a better "mousetrap" and I'll gladly switch

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

I totally agree with you Trevor.
GP, is a world class engine. Now showing others what modellers/customers will base their expectations on.

I still like GP. Have served me well.

I don't really see where they went above and beyond Trevor, they fixed the issue they had and it required a new crankcase. DA 200 needs a new crankshaft and they fixed it as well....Quite possible GP will get a new DA with their newly designed shaft and have a close look. I have never seen where DA has ever denied anyone the improvements they have made along the way.

Yes GP is a fine engine, better than the others, or above and beyond...very subjective in my mind!!

I have my tracking#. Expect my heavy package say Thursday, in conjunction with the release of the Beaver Lodge Chinook Generator!
I wouldn't mind a little draft off of the Annihilator come next week-end.
I will be running some 33:1 fuel in the alley by then.
