Trevor the "super supreme brick" you have is an incredible engine!!
Jack, you should wait for the MKS777 servos that Lorne is bringing in! I am flying the 1270 in two planes. But at Toledo we played with the MKS servos. You will only have to feel the gear train smoothness and tightness to change your mind. Have one on my 100cc 330 rudder for testing. Really fast, smooth and loads of torque (520oz). Really happy with it!
I am going to do a 104 slick with them all round. Trev is using a couple in his turbo prop, and a bunch more in some jets he is building.
Just thought i would let you know what the latest EM hype is! (This For Dale) LOL!!!

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

Do those 520 oz servos have a large mount plate to spread the torque over a larger area? Or are the airframes coming out with re-inforced servo pockets?

No, same foot print as standard servo (ie the 1270tg and others).

The MKS is a tall servo. It is also 81g. The 1270tg is normal high and light 56g.

Big pro is the MKS has a CNC aluminum top case!

Not sure i trust plastic top cases on +400oz servos anymore! Check out these picks...

I was lucky to get the plane down. Thing was wagging like a happy dog! the top bearing was moving more than a 1mm in the split.
