Evolution 45 GX fuel tank size

I'm building a Byron's Original Staggerwing kit and using an Evolution 45GX engine to power it. Does anyone have a suggestion on the fuel tank size that will give me about 15 minutes of scale flying with a comfortable reserve left over? I really like Fourtitude tanks but am concerned a 16 oz is too small and the 32 oz too big, wish they would make a 24 oz!

I use the 16 oz fortitude tanks with my 60cc's and get 8 mins of hard 3d flying so I'm suree you would get 15 flying scale easy

Neil, I see your position. As I was going to suggest a 20-24 oz tank.

Re: Evolution 45 GX fuel tank size

What about a dual tank setup? 2 12's or a 16 main and an 8 header tank?

Heli fliers run dual tank (main and header) all the time. A helicopter header tank is more commonly used to eliminate air bubbles due to foaming, but also provide additional tank capacity. Reliability of a twin tank setup has never been a problem.

I had a Scottish aviation bulldog that had very little space behind the firewall for a single large tank. In that case, I used a twin tank set up to solve that problem.
