I'm desperately looking for someone with a used glider they would be willing to part with - if you know anyone, send em my way. Until then, have some videos of a 30$ DLG doing half decent.

A local friend (Hamilton area) has a Stella DLG for sale, new, no build started. It is a 1M ship, some reviews/video on RCgroups, just search Stella....it is generally built as rudderless.
It is in the $350 range.
Let me know if you are interested & I can connect you with him.

Re: DLG/HLG Gliders Thread

I can't believe no one grabbed the DLG for sale in the Airplanes for sale section, at $300 for a good quality DLG.
I love the way my DLG flies and use it to learn low level thermaling just my knee does not like the spinning thing. Even just for fun flying it is extremely enjoyable, almost as much fun as my electric gliders, almost.

Re: DLG/HLG Gliders Thread

Yes I have been mulling and mulling over it vs buying a 100$ one from hobbyking to get me started. I'm not too confident in my DLG skills to jump right into a composite glider.

Re: DLG/HLG Gliders Thread

If you can afford it buy composite, the performance difference , even for a sport flier is significant and so is the enjoyment. I grew out a cheep glider in 5 sessions of mediocre flights.

Re: DLG/HLG Gliders Thread

Anybody got some spare CF cloth or spread tow lying around? I have glass, but carbon-on-carbon would be nicer

Cheers

Re: DLG/HLG Gliders Thread

Hi guys. I have 3 DLGs. The bobolink from art hobby, the birdie epp and a home brew nano I made. The birdie is similar to the discontinued alula. Very durable. The bobolink hit a soccer post once and has a repaired wing. It still flys great. I hope to aquire a better quality bird whan I can. I love being able to cross the street and fly for a half hour when I have sec. There is also a good hill for sloping here in Toronto when the wind is right.

Re: DLG/HLG Gliders Thread

Putting together another Dreamflight Libelle. She will have a fixed rudder and I am trying a pullstring on the elevator. Any one have any experience with a setup like this, I am worried that the spring does not have enough power to overcome even the modest power needed to launch the libelle.
