1.125 length between the bends of .020 music wire is what I use for 1.5 DLG`s bent just about like you have yours. When relaxed my surface would be at about 60 degrees

I think in your case I would be concerned about the foam letting lose.
Maybe make a hardspot and also glass a bit in the area where the spring is seated

Re: DLG/HLG Gliders Thread

Thanks Jeff, your description sounds like what i have rigged up on my glider so things should work as far as I can tell. I have the spring lightly ca d on in case i had to use different wire. As soon as i get her all together I will post about how it all worked out.

Thanks
David H

Alternatively, a pull-pull cable system might work reliabily too.

Re: DLG/HLG Gliders Thread

Hi Guys ,

New here and new to DLG ....I've been flying my Mini Q for 2 weeks now and I'm hooked. Great to see that we have an active Canadian site

I'm already planning to upgrade to a better DLG but just can't afford the 800-1000$ price tags on those Blasters and Snipes. Hope to find a few good deals to get me started....

Talk to you guys soon

I have no idea the exchange rate from US to Canadian $ but a Blaster is not $800.

Blaster 2, the one I have, is $405 US.

Top Soaring Top Sky Disser - $365

Solo DLG

Long Shot - $390

One of these should get your interest.

I was referring to a Blaster 3.5 and a snipe...

But lets take the Blaster 2 for 405$ USD...It would be about 500CND plus shipping lets say 50$USD thats anothe 60$CND. Total of 560$CND and to add to the fun , I'll have to pay provincial taxes. Bottom line lets say It would be close to 600$CND ....

Re: DLG/HLG Gliders Thread

OK, that is your choice. We all want the top gliders but few of us will spend that much. The point of our posts is that you have lots of options and there are LOTS of great DLGs well below the prices you cite, including the Blaster 2.

You only need the top of the line stuff if you plan to compete seriously at the national or world level.

As mentioned previously , I went with a fellow member's kit (takeoffeh). The price is within my budget and I'm sure it'll be a perfect setup for my first 1.5 DLG.....
