Sorry, missed that you had a new kit. Best of luck with it. Post some photos or start a build thread. Everyone enjoys a build thread.

Re: DLG/HLG Gliders Thread

Theo: I would love to hear some details on the nano dlg. I want to try dlg, I just don't know where to start. There is so much to choose from. Any advice would help too. Thanks.

Re: DLG/HLG Gliders Thread

Hi DHanson. I guess you can't put a strong spring in a foam rudder? I tried a pulsating in my Bobolink and the issue I had was that it drained the battery too fast. You are using power all the time just to keep the surfaces at centre.

Re: DLG/HLG Gliders Thread

Hey Bobsledder. The nano was a fun project. I just made it from scratch and was not working with any plans.
My newest dlg is the new Alula Trekk. I have been having lots of fun with it. I love that it comes apart and fits in a back pack. It was quite cheap and very cheap for a dlg. I did get it to thermal a little, which I have not been able to do with the Bobolink or the Birdie. My only issue with it is that I seem to have to trim it all the time. That might not be a problem if one glued it together.
Glad you are wanting to try DLG. I totally love it. Fits in to my busy life.
What are you thinking about going with or building?

Re: DLG/HLG Gliders Thread

New HLG glider offered by Armsoar..

A smaller sized dlg style of glider that arrives with the wings already joined together. I will be getting one of these for myself

Also new, a very nice fully composite mini DLG from Ukraine, 1m wingspan MALIBU. Available from Alex, RC AeroHobby here in Toronto.

Re: DLG/HLG Gliders Thread

Nice one Dan. I like the full flying horizontal stab on that one.

Re: DLG/HLG Gliders Thread

I've been having a lot of fun with my Tweagle DLG. It launches far higher than any of the other three DLGs I've had, and glides much better at higher speeds. It thermals great, and the handling in turbulent air is very good. The sink rate also seems quite good.

The parts were nicely made and very light. The flying weight with 4 Graupner 281 servos, FrSky X4R Rx, and a 750mAh 1S LiPo is 232g (no nose weight required). It is priced in Euros, which have been tracking more or less with the Canadian $, so the price hasn't gone up like gliders priced in US$. Alex packed it well, and it arrived quickly from the Netherlands. I did have to pay GST/PST.

The control hook-up with 4 in the pod is a bit of a pain, but fortunately it fits in my car assembled so I don't have to do it every time.

I had to use epoxy on the flaperon control arms. I tried thin CA like recommended in the instructions and it held until I moved the controls. He must have much better thin CA than I do.

It is a fun DLG. I'll have to put an altimeter in it and see what the launch height is. I'm not very good at launching DLGs, but the Tweagle is making me look respectable.

Re: DLG/HLG Gliders Thread

A serious competitor and a lightweight at hair over eight ounces. Maybe I can talk the relatives into bringing me one next time they visit from Holland.

Re: DLG/HLG Gliders Thread

Hi guys,

I've been flying all summer , first with my Fireworks Mini Q , then built a V2 kit, and then bought a Polaris..... I"m REALLLLY hooked.

Unfortunately , I've been told that DLG is pretty much dying here in Quebec (Montreal area). How true is this? Anyone from Montreal still flying DLG's?

AM I ALONE?????
