I'm thinking about building a Supergee II but so far I have no idea what trek this would be.

Trek? You lost me there. Could you elaborate?

Re: DLG/HLG Gliders Thread

I just mean I've never scratch-build a composite plane, just done some repairs. So I don't know how much involving this would be.

Re: DLG/HLG Gliders Thread

RCG has like 5 packed full threads on supergee builds. It is huge . Actually way to much info to wade through turning people off.

I suggest buying parts and building others. For example: buy a fuse and build/bag the wing and tails or vice versa.

I have foam wing cores if you ever consider going for it. They are the EDGE foils which have been replaced by a newer foil so I dont have as much use for them as I once did.I think I even have the matching mylars for bagging the wing skins.

I`m into helping out if you like.

Perhaps I used the wrong keywords but I could not find a supplier of Supergee pod and/or fuselage. That's the part I'd like to outsource. Do you know where?

I'd like to build with the newer airfoil, according to the description its better than the original.

But this is 12 years old already, perhaps not the best I could build?

Re: DLG/HLG Gliders Thread

There are a lot of newer airfoils that will make a difference to performance over the AG series, mostly in launch and higher speed glide. There are people with one-piece DLG fuselage moulds that occasionally sell on RCGroups.

No one is making SuperG parts because it has been superseded by newer designs.

Vacuum bagging is interesting the first few times at least. You will never get as good an airfoil as a moulded wing. A used high performance DLG is a much quicker and less painful route to a decent glider. I have all the equipment and materials, and have made quite a few wings, and I usually buy now rather than try to vacuum bag a wing.

The Armsoar GO seems to get pretty good reviews. It's the lowest cost composite DLG I've found.

Compared to what? 1.5 m dlg's? The GO is a 1.3m. If you want a 1m it'll be even cheaper....The Libelle is 1.2 and even cheaper ... So if you statement was to let me know that the Vortex 2.5 was not cheap then just compare it with something in the same category .....Lets compare apples with apples lol
