Not familiar with the Osiris......what's the specs and who makes it? Sounds like you've got a good thing going with your dlg always at the ready!

Cheers!

Oh man....that's a clean looking bird! Very high end! What a beaut! Do you compete with it or strictly for fun?

Cheers!

Re: DLG/HLG Gliders Thread

Just for fun. I still fly planes, helis and 3.2metre gliders but started DLG this year and 80-90% of my time is now flying DLG. Big reward grabbing low thermals and getting to 150 - 200 metres. Another shot.

Roland,

The national team trials for F3K (DLG's) is taking place this weekend north of Toronto. You should come and fly.

Re: DLG/HLG Gliders Thread

OMG no ; )
Chris, that's way too much stress for me. I just asked the wife about going to check it out. Little far but may turn it into an over nighter. Are you planning to go to the trials?
Flying for fun. The only one to beat is myself.

Roland:
I just checked out the ICARE website and almost fainted from sticker price shock! Wowsers eh? Don't get me wrong, I realize there is a lot of leading edge technology and materials in these simple looking planes, its just a matter of getting use to the fact that you are going to layout close to a grand or more...CDN to acquire one of these top end machines! Once you get your head around that, I have to think one has to wonder if one's skill level is ready for one of these finely tuned beasts! The attrition rate of any rc plane in my hands has been high!

Cheers!

Re: DLG/HLG Gliders Thread

I banged my head a few times with DLG prices. I started with a used supergee clone and got addicted. I spoke with Etienne from Icare and a week later I was on my way with a friend to pick up 2 Osiris. All purchases on any RC are always worth a phone call ; )
DLG has greatly improved my flying skills and reading the air. A true joy.
Trust me, I have no extra cash to waste on toys but have ZERO regrets about getting into DLG. My larger ALES gliders have all benefited from me jumping into DLG ; )

Re: DLG/HLG Gliders Thread

I am not planning on flying in the DLG trials but planning on being at the field on Sunday to do some sport flying.

For the DLG's it is a great group of guys who will be flying in the trials. It is really interesting to watch as they have a whole variety of tasks they do. Each flying session is 10 minutes long with a different task and with half the planes up at the same time.

Re: DLG/HLG Gliders Thread

That's my issue! Flying with others is fun. The colliding part is what freaks me out. A collision with a foamy is always funny and usually ends well. Composites… not so user friendly to collisions. MAYHEM ; )

Enjoy the weekend. If we make it there…. listen for someone screaming your Chriiiiiiiiiis!
We were heading up on moto but with this weather…. miss may change her mind (again ; )
