Does anyone happen to know if a transmitter that has a pcm module in it, and the radio is marked on the front as a pcm radio, that if a fm module is placed in it, it is no longer a pcm unit, but is now a fm unit.

Re: TX Module question

That is correct... You probably will need to make an adjustment to the settings in the radio, the change the modulation from PCM to PPM

Re: TX Module question

Not so, AM & FM is the type of signal the transmitter emits. AM is amplitude modulation. FM is frequency modulation. PPM and PCM is how the transmitter chops up that signal so the receiver can decode it for servo operation. I have a Futaba AM transmitter with an FM module in it and it operates the Futaba FM receivers perfectly. The basic board in the transmitter generates the proper PPM or PCM signal and the module will transmit it in the form that the receiver needs, Hence the 2.4 conversion modules can be used to convert your FM radio to 2.4. The signal generated by the basic transmitter board needs to be compatible with the receiver selected.
