Thank you sjd2. Saw your post this morning, checked their flyer, phoned the store and 1 left. Put my name on it and drove over to KW. Got the extra coupon deduction as well. Would have liked to purchase a spare cutting pad but they were out. No problem. thanks again for the heads up.

Re: Vinyl Graphics Cutters

Well done Charles. That's a great price! Enjoy your new "toy" . As you can read from other folks on this forum, being able to cut your own graphics is really satisfying and greatly expands your ability to customize your aircraft and make them somewhat unique to you. Lets face it, in our world of ARFs, unless you decide to recover a model, the only way that you can make your project unique is to add graphics.

Re: Vinyl Graphics Cutters

I must make an apology. The Cameo vinyl cutter did NOT qualify for the 25% discount. I just went over my receipt and some other items were discounted. I hope no one went into the store and got into an argument because of me.

Re: Vinyl Graphics Cutters

Hi Charles:

I wouldn't worry about it, mistakes happen. When all is said and done the basic discounted price is still a pretty good deal. The bottom line is that this cutter can be had for around $270.00, on a regular basis. In the grand scheme of things, ten years down the road, will anyone remember that they had to pay $20 or $30 bucks more for something? Will they care

Re: Vinyl Graphics Cutters

True about remembering 10 years down the road. Can you imagine that we could be buying 3D printers and laser scanners for the price of todays top of the line ink jet printers? I've looked up about (Midairs' post), the CB09 holder and blades. Looks interesting.

Re: Vinyl Graphics Cutters

You're correct guys....the 25% additional discount didn't apply to the Cameo. I was made aware of that at the checkout register today, in the fine print on the coupon....kinda sucked at the time, but I bought it anyway! and took the messily 30% savings. Now I'm going to go back over all your posts and figure out what I'm doing with this thing :>) Really looking forward to doing some cool graphics.

At least it is only 96 posts to go through and not 5 to 6 hundred.
Have fun with your new toy guys and we all expect to see your work posted!
We are all learning from each other here.
Don't be afraid to ask questions. Most of us have probably already encountered the same issue.

Re: Vinyl Graphics Cutters

Scott (Carlisler) gave me a tour of his new cutter last night while we had a few beverages. Definite adds a lot of potential for jazzing up our planes!!!

Anyways, I bought my 89" Slick wings over and we did a little cutting to spice them up appropriately!!!

Here is the as applied and then the "as tested" results!!!!

Re: Vinyl Graphics Cutters

Thread is going silent again. I guess some eye candy needs to be posted.

First pic is my Windex glider. Went a little overboard with the graphics. LOL

The second is my scratch build Avro Arrow. I re-cut the Canadian Leaf Roundels. Much sharper than my original hand cut ones.
One nice thing about cutting your own graphics. You can easily size them to your planes. If you cut too big or small and it doesn't look right. Just re-size and cut again.

Oh, this is all regular Ultracote covering.

Re: Vinyl Graphics Cutters

Eye candy is awesome!

But don't think we need to worry about this particular thread going quiet!

Lots of stuff going on in the background, and getting ready to post I would guess

I have some coming personally, but I did notice that Hummingbird you cut! Nice!

More to follow......

hehe...
