Made a run up to Sign Supply Canada, its where i purchase my vinyl from.
I use my 24LX plotter for very little. A couple Ts here and there and thats it. I went with a 24" plotter w. optical and a heat press, overkill for what I am doing.

I do use a designer to do some custom stuff for me, but nothing drastic. I have done pretty much all the RC related logos I need for my own personal shirts.

Anyhow, a friend of mine was planning to make his way to this store fron North Bay, so I snapped some pics for him.

IN NO WAY AM I VOUCHING FOR THE STORE.
**buyer beware. LOL.** I know them as well as you do.
I am merely some random customer who is new to the hobby of vinyl cutting.
They treat me well however so I plan to continue using them.

There are located in Mississauga.

Re: Vinyl Graphics Cutters

Hey guys,

Thought I would post this, as I now have a functioning light table!

I saw a neat and affordable idea on "instructables.com" where they used a standard LACK end table from IKEA (commonly available on Kijiji for 5 bucks)

I found a local LED light strip supplier on Kijiji as well, Expert Island, in Oakville. The quality is higher than the Chinese ones I bought for my trailer.
I used a 600 LED, 5m roll of Cool White on this project. (11 bucks)

The acrylic was purchased at Acrylics by Design in Brampton. this piece is a 'sign white' not the translucent type which is not opaque enough. (35 bucks)

powered by a 3S batt.

The best part, and the main goal was storage capability. I don't have space so can not place a normal light table anywhere. (I do love some of the older light tables that are for sale out there.

Cheers

Scott

Looking good Scott! A great solution for space limitations. Light tables are a must for multiple layer stuff.

Re: Vinyl Graphics Cutters

Here is another use for your cameo.
I picked up a two sheets of header gasket material. 0.012 and 0.025 thickness.
I have cut exhaust port and head gaskets using the cameo.
Cameo cuts thinner material very well. It can't get thru the thicker stock.
Original gaskets were 0.011 so thin stock is fine.

Re: Vinyl Graphics Cutters

Well I decided John and Scott may need a B/U Cameo one day so I bought one from Michaels. they were on sale two weeks ago for $229.99 down from $269.99 so with tax paid less then the $269.99. I supposedly bought it on the last day of the sale but was in there again tonight and they are back at $229.99 until tomorrow.

I went to Sign Supply Canada to get vynal and almost walked out with that 24XL as well but decided I could spend the money on a new lap top.

Rick what sodtware are you running yours with?

Anyway he is my first succesfull graphic just done this morning, ( I only started last night, LOL!).

I think I might be going back for that 24" cutter sooon! I found a new hobby! LOL!

Re: Vinyl Graphics Cutters

Very cool there John!
Where did you get the gasket material? Is there a part number for the thin stock?
And that wouldn't be an EME60 exhaust gasket would it?

Congrats on the purchase and 'hobby' find, Jim!!
you will truly have a blast!
