Re: Vinyl Graphics Cutters

Cameo Silhouette introduced a new model last month and some stores are selling off the previous (perfectly good model for our types of use) model at a reduced price. I picked up one on Monday at Micheal's in London for $229.00! Don't know what he new model will be priced at.....

Re: Vinyl Graphics Cutters

Just got the new Michael's flyer, The Cameo Silhouette is on sale for $199.00 Reg. 299.00Seems they are clearing out the original version. The new version has a color touch screen. These won't last long at this price and are a great cutter.

Re: Vinyl Graphics Cutters

I've had my cutter since November....great unit!

Need some advice! Has anyone figured out how to import graphics from other sources (internet, my own files, etc.) and what was necessary to bring them into the library?

Here's a repair hint! The quality of my cuts were deteriorating....I thought my blade might be dulling...but, when I removed the end cap of the blade housing, I discovered residue from previous cuts inside the end cap....couldn't see it from the outside! once (carefully) cleaned out, the blade was as good as new again!

cheers, Gord

Re: Vinyl Graphics Cutters

Hello Gord:

You should be able to import almost any graphic or photo into the Silhouette program. On the Silhouette program main working page, go to the upper left hand corner and "click" the open folder. That selection will open a new window entitled "Graphics." Go to the bottom right side of that page and from the "Files of Type" box click the drop down menu. At the bottom of that drop down list you can select "All Files (".")" At that point you should be able to look for and select the particular graphic that you want to import in to your main working page. Hope that this works for you. BTW, I'm still using the original Silhouette program that came with my cutter from 1 1/2 years ago; I haven't upgraded to the latest version as I heard that it was a bit buggy.

Cheers,

Peter

Re: Vinyl Graphics Cutters

Hello everyone ..just got my New Silhouette Cameo .. Question: How do you set-up in the Studio SW so that you define a Monokote TrimSheet 5inches x 36inches as the cutting Material?

Thanks

Salut Michel,

the Monokote will require a backing material I believe, and the largest mat that I have seen for this machine is the 12"x24" one.

so if there is no other larger ones, something will have to be used as a transport for the Monokote. (vinyl is its own mat/backer)

I cant remember the settings off-hand, but check out this video I made about cutting Monokote on the Cameo using vinyl as the mat/backer.

+ YouTube Video

Re: Vinyl Graphics Cutters

While testing, I found a PAGE SIZE option in the Silhouette Studio in the DESIGN PAGE SETTING ( Upper Right Icon with a PAGE and Horizontak-Vertical Arrows).

Will test this

Thks
