Everybody complains about airplane guys revving their engine in the pitts at full rpm for 20 minutes. But nobody ever complains about a guy flying a gas heli at 12,000 rpm for 20 minutes hovering 10 ft. off the ground, spewing fumes and not going anywhere. Now thats really aggravating.

There is a difference between actually flying / hovering and revving your motor for no reason.. I know exactly what you are talking about because it pisses me and other people off. There is no need at all to rev your engine in the pits if you are tuning it do it when no one is flying.

Fly electric if all u do is stay in one place while learning-when you are more proficient and you are able to fly around like a plane-then go nitro.

How about don't bring your plane to the field until its tuned and fully broken in, that way we don't have to hear your stupid motor !

Re: Heli Pilots

Ha, a couple years ago I was having engine problems at a funfly. Spent all day in the blocks trying to sort it out. Brap, Brap, brap. All day long

Why no-one came to me and told me to beat it I have no idea! Around dinner I realized that I was an annoying idiot and apologized to those around me. Some appreciated it. The rest were pricks

Id accept a apology, what's sad is no one came to help you ?

I have nothing again'st guys running motor in the pits, the annoying part is the guys that do it at our field DONT FLY they just bring the plane out rev the sthit out of the motor stop walk away come back and do it repeatedly all day. it's annoying. FLY IT or leave!

It's hard to concentrate when all you hear is a annoying motor in the back ground, you know how hard it is to auto too when you can't hear your blades or heli head speed ?

Sounds like my club-all a bunch of pricks.Once i worked with a guy over an hour to try to get his engine going. Then another guy comes to help. After another few minutes the thing actually started. The owner then turns to the other guy to say" thanks,I really appreciate your help" and says absolutely nothing to me. And the other guy did nothing`,he just came by at the right time. The other guy got all the credit and did nothing. I decided after that never to help anybody again.

That'll fix em! He should have known you were helping him, only to get accolades, and recognition. All the rest that follow, that could use some help need to suffer for this injustice done to you.

Sorry, but I am a believer in "paying it forward", without the help of experienced pilots in my area I would not have been able to afford to continue in this wonderful hobby, nor would it have been as enjoyable as it has been for me.

I find enjoyment in helping others in this hobby, new comers as well as experienced members. We can all learn something every outing from someone.

I apologize for this going off topic a little. Each person is entitled to enjoy their hobby the way they see fit, but IMHO should be mindful of others around them in social gatherings.

Re: Heli Pilots

Everybody appreciates a pat on the back once in awhile. Even dogs like it.Ask your wife to do you a favour and then say nothing to her after she does it. You don t help somebody just to be rewarded after with praise-I agree, but when the praise was heeped on the other guy for doing nothing and nothing said to you-then you sort of interpret that as an insult.
