Programming HK T6A Transmitter?

Bought a Hobbyking 6ch "programmable" transmitter and have cherished it up to this point. For the price, its value is very good but i also bought it because it said it was "Programmable", in hopes that i can fiddle with mixing once i've got myself up to speed with flying again. I went ahead and bought a simulator cord with simulator program for my transmitter

But to my demise i can't seem to be able to connect this cord, to be able to calibrate my transmitter with T6config. Am i going to have to shuffle out money and wait a month for a cord from hobbyking? i can't seem to find COM ports in device manager. As if the USB to Com port driver isn't working.

There are a ton of online reference to the cable, modifications to the cable etc. etc. such as:

You may also be experiencing driver errors in the computer itself ... look for information on: CP210x_VCP_Win_XP_S2K3_Vista_7.exe

Re: Programming HK T6A Transmitter?

coincident timing! I just pulled an Exceed RC 6ch radio off the shelf to use temporarily for my grandsons car. I'm looking for a surface radio but we are both impatient to test. I turns out to be the same T6A radio Transmitter. It seems to be defaulted to heli config and I have no way to change it. Thanks for the link here to the cable as I also couldn't find it.
