Large boxes?

Where in Mississauga can we find large sturdy boxes to ship out 4.5 feet long by 12" by 12" fibreglass fuselage?, I have been looking around but haven't been able to find a single box to fit my needs, anyone know's where to get a box of this size?

Looking for 5 feet long x 14"H x 12W" box....

Re: Large boxes?

UPS store. You may have to tape a couple together end to end... A couple extra large sized adult diaper boxes taped together should be close as well.... Any nursing homes near you?

Re: Large boxes?

You know what they say;
"If you want it done right you have to BUILD it."

Start at Home Depot buy some 1" x 2" Strapping build an over sized frame,
Then buy two Wardrobe boxes from a moving company (or UPS),
Break the boxes down to suitable pieces and line the wooden frame with the cardboard.
Tape, glue, nail and screw to desired level of security and ship as required.

Any Questions; refer to the thread on 'Cannot Ship BS'

Furniture store that sells refrigerators. The box the fridge is shipped. Tepperman's Leon on's that sort thing. Then you can reinforce it. Or if your really serious you can use the crates the sea-doo's are shipped in from a marine dealership.

Re: Large boxes?

You may have to build your own box if making a large box from many small ones is not an option. check out "Currogated Cardboard" in your local yellow pages or Canada 411 or Google.

Be advised that it you plan to shop this via Canada Post, it will be like the "Samaurai Optician" skit on SNL with John Canda when the "optician" gests asked how much a set of lenses and frames would be -- chop at arm and leg..... That's what put kit makers in Canada out of business unless they moved to the US or other parts.

Re: Large boxes?

Just go down to your local auto body shop...I always got body panels and grills and such that came in nice large boxes that were always a pain to get rid of....would get them for free too.

You can fly Hitec or use the other "low tech" stuff!!
