First foray into a field generator was a CanTire Yardworks 1000 knockoff of the Honda inverter model. It was perfect for two seasons, then would not handle the initial surge into my Mastec PS. It would shut down electrically due to overload. Initialising the Mastec using an inverter and then a quick plug changeover got me through thr season. Took it back to CanTire with the 4 year over the counter warranty and sent it off. March rolled around with no word on status of repair. Several back and forths revealed no repair possible or available. The young lady offered a new one or full refund. Took the money and ran. Went shopping on local Kijiji and got a Honda EX1000 4 stroke, the forerunner of the inverter series for EIGHTY BUCKS. A few bucks later for flushing and treating the fuel tank and a couple of hoses and bingo! Power when I need it. Not as quiet as the newer ones, but bullet proof. and you can hardly hear it perking away in front of my van, away from the pits. Got to get lucky once in a while, eh?

Awesome, good to know its more of a sound thing than actually hurting our electronics
