When all else fails, go to Safeway and buy the cheapest, highest lacquer content hairspray on the shelf (Non-scented if you value your olefactory senses) and apply liberally. It works fine with Moneycoat and the other iron-ons.

I used just under half a jar on a 48" wingspan biplane that was mostly open structure. You apply the Balsaloc quite thinly so it goes quite far. Obviously more will be used if there is a lot of sheeted area to cover.

Easiest idea yet..... Cover grip..... Sold by great hobbies... Water base and water cleanup. Hold as well as good ole balsa rite...... Easily accessible and no hazmat charges if you need it sent to you...

The Balsaloc from the UK has promise too - now let's see if there is a local supplier.

I think that I'm going to have a serious look at Dale's water based Urethane - 15 years of usage cannot be ignored. (besides I'm on a budget)
Sure, I've used it on balsa, prep for iron-on. Tissue, Urethane (Dope substitute). Lots of Sig Kover-All. Great results.

Hope this helps,

FishFly - FunFly, Sept 11-13. Great fun!
