And how much worse it is when you don't see where the plane goes - like in my case

Thanks... I think I'll be looking around in Toledo in April for some FPV stuff. . I have the parts to make a basic quad (KK2.0, wood and/or carbon stock sitting around, motors, etc.).

Do you have a favourite / recommended FPV setup? [if that's an answer that's already buried in this forum feel free to tell me to RTFM I know it's a noob question... and I am at least starting to get more serious about my reading on the topic. ]

PS-Ever make it down to London? I'd buy you lunch and your favourite drink for a rescue mission Heh, heh. Though, with the snow storm tomorrow it might be a lost cause until spring actually shows up.

Here is a video of one of the rescues I made. In this case it was pretty close to the field, but the grass was so tall the poor guy was walking in circles trying to find it before he gave up and asked me to look for it with my quad

that is very impressive plane SaR Max!

But this does not show the low res videolink you are seeing when you are flying and searching!

Around here the other Rc pilots don't really lose the plane. The field is chunky rocks and stuff, mostly barren. Ringed by tall trees. All the fly aways end in the first row of trees. Just have to wait a month or 3 for the winds to come up and blow them out.
