Re: workbench clutter

Things are just not right in my world if I don't have at least 2 projects on the go at a time.

Clean bench...... Sick mind!

My problem is that I've built my way into absolutely no space remaining. I pretty well have to step over planes to walk through the shop, and they're mostly big planes. I'm now in a corner and building a 120" Grumman Widgeon and a Ziroli Spit sort of being worked on. I've built, and put together 3 big planes this winter including an 18 ft. sailplane.

Re: workbench clutter

I have 4 hobby knives. When I can't find any of them it is time to do a cleanup. Try to finish the clean up before going on with the project but not always successful - want to get on with the project before finishing the cleanup.

Re: workbench clutter

Workench clutter is the bane of all model hobbyists. Seriously. How much time do you spend cleaning up the workbench? (so you can find whatever it is you are looking for)

All that time cleaning, I could have spent building!!

And the worst part is, even after you clean it, you work on a project for a bit, you gotta clean it again...Means even more building time lost

I especially hate it when I dont have much free time on any given day, I go to the workshop and spend that precious free time cleaning instead of building

Re: workbench clutter

Well I'm glad to see I'm not alone. Maybe we should add a couple bench cleaning days to the RCC event calendar. I couldn't take it any more and cleaned mine off yesterday, just to start cluttering it up again. I'm sure by tomorrow it will look the same as it did. Happy building, spring is just around the corner!!

Still hard to beat a Well Built Carden
