Re: 12v and 24v+ high output power supplies

G'Day,

Would you take some time and edumacate me.

1. What battery types are these good for charging? Lead acid starting, deep cycle, AGM etc.. Nicad,
2. These power supplies are constant amp output?
3. What is the output voltage? Constant?
4. I have need for a 12 volt wet cell lead acid charger and a 24 volt. Probably AGM 12 volt in the future.
5. How difficult is it to add an amp meter.
6. In the end I would need a 24 volt charger that is capable of splitting down to 12 volt sometimes.

Cheers

They will work with any BUT you wouldn't be able to charge the batteries directly with these. You would need a suitable charger for the battery types you want to charge. These are power sources for those chargers which take an input voltage lower than regular 110 AC. I can make 12v/24/36v setups.
2. These power supplies are constant amp output?
Yes it is constant. In general, amperage does not push, it pulls, so you could use any device(s) at a max power consumption of 47amps.
3. What is the output voltage? Constant?
The output voltage is ALWAYS constant. Depending on which setup you choose, I can make units which output 12v/24v/36v. A 12v unit actually puts out 12.6v to be really specific.
4. I have need for a 12 volt wet cell lead acid charger and a 24 volt. Probably AGM 12 volt in the future.
If you are getting a charger that needs a DC input voltage, and not a 110 AC voltage, than these would be perfect for that.
5. How difficult is it to add an amp meter.
Not hard at all.
6. In the end I would need a 24 volt charger that is capable of splitting down to 12 volt sometimes.
Not 100% sure what you mean. But I can make dual output power supplies, so a 24v unit could have a 24v and 12v outputs.
Cheers

Hopefully this was the edumacation you were looking for

If there's anything you would like to know, feel free to ask.

Re: 12v and 24v+ high output power supplies

Thank you. One last question.

What is typical input power source for your units?

They plug right into the wall outlet of your house or any outlet.

Typically 110v AC as that's what we use in North America.

But they are rated for 100-240v, so they could be used anywhere in the world on any type of standard household power from any electrical outlet.

The power cords I have are good for north american electrical outlets so EU or others would need to find their own power cord for their type of plug in their country.

Re: 12v and 24v+ high output power supplies

Thanks for the info. I'm new to the site and to the planes. I own a AS3X BNF The Beast, an Apprentice (old version) and my newest plane is a 60 Giant Super Sportster rebuilt by me after I found it in a barn. Looking to buy a motor for it but I not to sure how to figure out what motor to use exactly. What was suggested was a OS16521, but I've seen a motor in the classifieds for a OS magnum motor. Not to sure if that would be to big for the plane.
