Ahhh, that good ole' Banshee. The last time this particular airplane flew, we found an amusing weakness in the horizontal stab. Merv built it out of foam board or something, strengthened with wood spars if I remember right. Anyhow, the whole thing started to get loose and flap. As it was going around, every so often the horizontal stab would start to flutter and disappear into a blur. Made a really neat sound and the handle would start to just vibrate like crazy in my hand and made my eyeballs flutter. A couple times it was bad enough that I felt like I was going to lose it.

I never actually knew what was going on, I just wished the engine would quit! When it finally died and I landed, poor Merv was double over and laughing so hard I though for sure he was going to have a heart attack. Once he recovered enough to talk he told me what it looked like from his angle outside the circle.

I can't believe it didn't just explode and come right apart! He assures me he is going to fix it before we try again.
