Just a heads up regarding HXT900 servos...

We wanted to fly our Phantom yesterday but noticed the rudder servo had deflected hard right. Nose wheel steering worked fine so it must have been a fault in the servo. I tried straightening it with power connected and it stripped a gear.
This morning I removed the HXT900 to replace it but first checked to see if I could figure out the original problem. Yes a gear tooth had broken but I noticed the potentiometer was not secure in the case. It could be easily removed. I believe the pot must have twisted in its position changing the centering of the servo because after I replaced the broken gear and CA'd the pot in the center position, the servo worked perfectly! This saved soldering a new servo in and sped up the maintenance. Three flights today in very windy conditions but the plane flew nice and steady (thanks to the A3 pro SE micro gyro.
Zen thinking * It's rebuildable till it fits back in the box. **
