Re: spur gear combo

I use a 17 tooth clutch bell and a 47 or 49 tooth spur gear for bashing in heavy grass or real loose dirt & gravel. and to do some long wheelies!! will kick it up a few teeth on the spur when looking for higher speeds.

cheers good luck

Re: spur gear combo

You can't go wrong with HPI Clutch bells and Spurs. As for the combination it all depends on what size wheels you are running. If they are stock wheels you can't go wrong with what bird man mentioned. I run 40 series tires with a 52 spur gear and 13 tooth bell! This gives a super short ratio for big wheelies and great climbing ability. If you want to know your gear ratio just divide the spur by the bell. The higher the number the shorter your gears which means lots of wheelies and less top speed. Lower the number more top speed less wheelies.
