Quick Foamie Reaction

Well, today was not great, my old pusher prop Avro Arrow became a lawn dart from great heights, my foamie EDF Arrow made some noises that turned out to be a wing servo had come loose. So came home and pondered whether or not to jump in and fix the old Arrow. Instead, decided to do something different. Most of us know of the Reaction 54 wooden turbine model, kinda a neat but different model.

So, after supper, found a two view line pattern of the model, used Corel Draw to adjust the size for a 70 mm EDF. Five hours later and 2/3rd's a sheet of 2" foam, lots of hot wire cutting and presto, got me a new plane.

The wing is thick enough for retracts, which will be installed once the CG has been figured out. The basic airframe tips the scales at 9.95 oz, has a 44" wingspan, the fuselage is 4" wide so plenty of room for the gadgets. Going to use a Chang Sun 12 bladed EDF unit, Mega motor, and a 4 cell maybe even a 5 cell battery pack.

Will use the EFlite retracts that I had in my Habu, so easy installation to say the least.

And the picture is inverted, why my IPad does this is beyond me. But when you open it, it spins around the right way.
