Silicone Tubing

Any suggestions where to buy clear silicone tubing? I would like to extend my my exhaust (nitro) to the bottom of the aircraft so I can minimize the mess it leaves. I have a Dubro exhaust deflector on the muffler and it sure helps but I would like to take it one step further.

Re: Silicone Tubing

Check with ThunderBolt. I have bought many different sizes from him (Jeff). For just that purpose, although larger.
Hope this helps.

Re: Silicone Tubing

The cheapest is a used coffee maker. They have two pieces of high temp tubing just the right size about seven inches long. I picked up some high temp hydraulic hose from our local Hyd Shop the other day.

Re: Silicone Tubing

Getting the mess away from the plane is a great idea - but - be careful about how much tubing that you add to your exhaust.

As you add more of this tubing you are changing the amount of back pressure on the engine and therefore the performance could be affected.

Try out the longer deflector but be ready to change back to a shorter system if you loose too much power.

Good Luck.
