As some of you know I have competed in several world cups and world championships for Canada, although in a totally different sport/hobby, I also did do a bit of IMAC.

All I would like to say is wear our colors and stick those decals PROUDLY!, take it all in and enjoy every moment of it, don't take advantage of it, as you never know when this opportunity will come up again.

Practice with a purpose, practise as a team, remember quality of practise is much better then quantity. Extremly important to work on the metal game as well, you don't make mistakes when you practise mentally, (or you shouldn't (: ). When you wheels leave the ground Just treat it as any old local contest and forget about where you are. I'm not telling most of you things you don't already know.

But most of all, GOOD LUCK and HAVE FUN!!

PS Winning isn't everything....... It's the only thing! (:

Re: For Those Flying At The Worlds.

Jeez Kevin it's nice to hear from you! Thanks for the words of encouragement and I think the team is starting to feel some cohesiveness as we had I think eleven members at last weekends Stetson Flyers IMAC contest in Ottawa! I noticed some real focused flying from many of the members and the quality is going up every time I watch ( and call and judge!)
We have a wonderful team leader in Ivan Kristensen and a lot of experienced pilots who should help make us very competitive on the world stage.

Re: For Those Flying At The Worlds.

Hey Kev!
Thanks for the encouragement!
But you are right, we all should take this opportunity pretty seriously as it's the first ever IMAC World Championship. There are some pretty respected names in the ring, particularly from the USA, that we will be flying against.
It will really be intense competing with them, and I'm looking forward to it.
(your name came up by the way, on our way to the Ottawa contest!!)

Thanks again,

Re: For Those Flying At The Worlds.

Thanks Kevin, good to hear from you.

The competition will be intense especially from our US friends. I am sure we will all try hard and wear the maple leaf proudly. You are right, this is a special privilege that does not happen often in a lifetime for most of us. We will compete hard and do our best to represent Canada.

PS - I still work at all the things you taught me and I am still flying with your lucky 14MZ !
