Ikon Self Leveling

Well scrapped my 450dfc today, been flying this bird on a 3sx for over a year nice and stable, moved the 3sx to my nitro bird and thought i'd try out an ikon, so ordered a new shiny ikon wired it all in and set it up used the "set level" after using the swash plate leveler inverted with a level, so basically my swashplate and gyro were then set level to the wold.

Swash levele'd all arms at 90, using a swash plate leveler, flew her around a bit seemed really nice the tail was locked in, so hit self level, pitched front left, well ok tried this a few times and recover'd no issues,

Get home put my swashplate lever on and hit auto level, sure enough front left, use the trim in setup #3 for self leveling to get the swash plate flat while the heli is level,

flew around my yard , done it a million times hit self level prepared for some action, only i did not expect 45 deg full forward.......

So basically my 450 is "drying" most electronics seem fine

but what the %%%% is with these units? i have a 3sx on my nitro 1/4 the setup work and self level's on a dime

Re: Ikon Self Leveling

I have an iKon V2 on my Trex 700E V2. I set up the iKon and it flew with no issues, so I set up the self level. The first time I actuated the bank with self level activated, I put the heli in a 50 ft hover and turned on bank 1 with my Aux 2 switch on my 9503. It was a non-event, the helicopter flys like a big co-axial. I have even, accidentally took off with self level activated with no issue.

Re: Ikon Self Leveling

My Ikon 450 flies amazingly well, but I also have a bit of motion on the heli when I engage the self-leveling. Mine skids off to the left. I presumed that I did not set level on my setup, and have been meaning to re-calibrate it. What have other people been doing to get the leveling to neutral?

when you set it up int he software to level it, there is a button can't remember what it was but i called chris from Heli Freak he said you need to level the disc ( aka the head NOT the heli, you need to pretty much use a turn table centering level, when it's level 100% then use the set button in the software.

One of these level's.

Ya, to be honest, I eyeballed my setup.
I'll conjure up something that uses the levels you show and give it a try

Re: Ikon Self Leveling

3m vhb tape that came with the gyro's ripped off and gyro foam tape added, auto level = working

Maybe they should package the right mounting tape and vibration warning for auto level?

Now just have to find out how to get rid of the wobble on my 500,
