I am hoping we can adjust the positive pitch after the heli levels out upright. In the video the heli rises very quickly.

Re: Ikon Self Leveling

Just got this response from MSH Brain:

Can you set the position pitch after the heli self levels? Yes. You set the percent of pitch you want the system to use as it rescues you. After the rescue completes, the pitch is smoothly returned back to your control.

Sounds like a great setup

I have not maidened my new helis but I am curious to see how I did with setting up the self leveling feature using to Soko tool.

So just to be sure, Rick- this is a firmware upgrade to existing Icons, or will this only be available on newer versions of the Icon?

Actually, I find the positive pitch and climb to be an asset. Imagine if your heli was heading downward when you hit the bailout- Inertia will continue to keep it heading to the ground if you have neutral or slight pitch (which is a slow climbout)- you will definitely need a more than just a bit of upward pitch to get the heli stopped from its descent. I would rather have more than less in that scenario.

It is a free firmware upgrade for existing Ikons. It with be available for the full size and micro Ikon FBL units.

I agree the position pitch is an asset. I just like the fact that you can adjust how is reacts to your preference.

I had mixed in positive pitch with self level which worked really well but it will be great to have it available in the new software.

Re: Ikon Self Leveling

The new Ikon firmware has been released. No need to setup the bailout feature manually.

Re: Ikon Self Leveling

Just wanted to let you guys know, the new updates work awesome!!
Very easy to setup. No more making sure heli is perfectly level on the bench.

I have MSH Brain/Ikon in both my Goblins, 500 & 380, and recently tried the rescue feature. Works as advertised.

Re: Ikon Self Leveling

Hey guys.
I finally got around to downloading the latest firmware. Went over the wizard in Demo mode- looks super easy.

I hope to install it on my 450 that has the Ikon in it and (with luck) fly it this weekend.
Lets hope we get some good weather.

Re: Ikon Self Leveling

OK
Just finished the setup of my heli with the new firmware.
FYI my old version was 1.1029 and the new version is 2.0.026

I really liked the step-by-step setup. It was effortless and I feel good about the setup. Some of the fine-tuning steps in the software were especially handy. Compared to the settings I had from the prior setup, I could see that I was off on the neutral as well as max and min pitch settings. It only seemed like a few hairs but being able to dial it all in on the bench felt good.

I set one of my 3 way switches to include the self leveling bailout with the rescue pitch option. Its really cool how it goes to high positive pitch as soon as you hit the switch, and then after .6 seconds, it slowly goes to whatever pitch setting you have the stick at. I would presume in a panic you hit the switch, and while it rescues your heli, you have enough time to gather your wits and move the cyclic to neutral.

I'm looking at the weather forecast for tomorrow and crossing my fingers.
I cant wait to go out and try it.

Nice going Max. I plan to load the new firmware this week myself. Long overdue.
