I'm worried about you Trevor. Since you got your new jet you seem to have lost all interest I your beaver. It's a disease I tell you!

Re: Beaver Fever in Southern Ontario

LOL!! No need to be worried!! Currently building a pair of F18 Hornets in the Jet section which will take me through until Jan/Feb. I will then get back into the Beaver

However, there has been some progress on the Beaver.. I've decided to make this project electic!! I bought a Hacker Q80, 200Amp Jeti ESC and 12S-8000 packs to give me 100cc power.

I'm also working with Mr RC Sound (www.test.mrrcsound.com) to install a new speakerless, (capable of 102dB) sound system of a radial. If you do the research, the new speakerless sound systems are pretty wild, very light and quite realistic. They use sound transducers, not speakers. They also have a start up sequence, run sequence and shutdown sequence, all controlled through the throttle channel.

I'll post a video of the radial

Re: Beaver Fever in Southern Ontario

I just picked up the second of two beavers to work on. Used one is a bit rough around the edges and needs a fair bit of cleaning up before I want to be seen in public with it. The new one is shiney. It will be electric unless I can find a suitable sounding engine. I like the sound option you are looking into. Had a simple cheap sound system with radial sound that sounded great.

Re: Beaver Fever in Southern Ontario

LOL! Phil... I'm trying really hard to refrain from commenting on the dirtiness and noise of your beavers

Congrats on acquiring these. I've honestly lost quite a bit of interest in this project. Will likely box it back up and start back into it in the summer when I need to satisfy the balsa cravings! When I get back into it, I will definitely be doing the big electric with the new sound transducers!

I hope this isn't too forward - but can you post pictures of your beavers???

Large one will be gas. The cowl size of the smaller would be a pain to put a suitable sounding engine in with out butchering the cowl. Rc sound systems are a great option
