Re: Beaver Fever in Southern Ontario

Just a quick update...

* Andy has started his build of the Beaver! He was going to leave the floats for a while and I think the plans were laid out and he will be starting the fuse. Hopefully he can keep this thread going.

* I will likely be posting all my stuff for sale. Beaver kit (untouched), one float 90% done, other float still in kit form, amphibious retracts, fiberglass cowl. I've got a bunch of other projects and kinda lost interest in this one.

Therefore hopefully Andy can keep the torch lit on this project for us.

Re: Beaver Fever in Southern Ontario

Have start building the Beaver and working on the 2nd float. I think I can do a better job then Trevor did on the first float. I am not going to post every little detail as Trevor does just things that may interest the RC world. I am not convinced using a servo as brake on the main wheels is the way to go. The full scale T33 T-bird used that system and the pilots had a crappy time making turns especially sharp ones. They would get the nose gear cock over so far and then couldn't get the nose wheel straightened out. They would have to shut down and get towed in. Stupid system.

I have some ideas on to make the nose gear steerable but want to try it first before posting.

Let the beaver build begin

Sorry for the confusion Trevor.

Awesome Mike. Will be following along. Really excited to see what you do for the brakes and steering

Re: Beaver Fever in Southern Ontario

I think Xicoy has come out with a differential steering brake valve.

Re: Beaver Fever in Southern Ontario

Looks like a DA100 is going to fit great. Using a 3 bladed prop becomes a option now.
