Tonight I'll give the front lower sheeting a try Likely going to take some considerable amounts of Windex (w/ ammonia) to get the 1/8" sheeting flexible enough to conform to those multi-curves.

some large rubber grommets for the air cylinders should help sealing off that bay were the cylinders fit in.

Yep! Exactly Mark!! I've got some blocks being hysol'd in place. Then I can mount the retracts and get that area sealed off. Should be golden once done!

I'm also going to install waterproof servos on the angled plate at the front of the well... The arm will push against the tire to create resistance like a brake so I can program in steering. The plans show this servo mount location!!

Mark - if my Tucano wasn't working so good right now, I'd be pulling the JetCat SPT-5 out of it and doing a Turbo Beaver I gave that a ton of thought but just can't mess with the Tucano.

Re: Beaver Fever in Southern Ontario

Okay - I ended up cheating a bit on the bottom sheeting of the floats .... From my last Carden build, I ended up not using a stack of their incredible 1/8" balsa. This stuff is beyond contest grade ... I'd argue there's only a select few sheets out there that'll match the quality of Carden's balsa

With this sheeting, I was able to bend it around the multi-curved sponsons

Here's a few pictures of the first 2 strips....

Re: Beaver Fever in Southern Ontario

And here's a few pictures of all the lower sheeting completed . I still need to do some shaping and clean up the definition of the sponsons, but this is a rough start.

Tomorrow I'll get the retracts mounted and run the plumbing and I can then start working on the sides and top structure where the landing gear mounts on.

I wish I could Ed!!! If a used Wren44 or used JetCentral turboprop ever came up for sale, I'd be very interested, LOL!!
